Sara Ben Yosef
My wheel is my "3D pencil". New shapes always develop on the wheel, not on a piece of paper. I give my pots a personal touch by slightly pinching them or by using a needle tool or a thin wooden tool.
Since 1990, I have been using silk screen printing technique. I make prints from my own photographs, which I then transfer onto my pottery: old buildings, images of nature such as trees and landscapes, as well as verses from the scriptures.
I use decals, laser prints and direct prints onto clay.
The variety of printing techniques has opened up for me great room for creation and innovation.
